A post I wasn't able to make on a thread because it 404'd ========== I went to bed thinking about this thread and concluded that level of fembrainedness is not important enough to focus on so hard. Let's think about how somebody's first impression of you goes: >first they see you >then they hear you >lastly they interpret your words This chain of image, sound, and dialoge forms their baseline opinion of you, and each step leads into the next. It makes sense to me that having these 3 aspects line up is more important than having one of them be really good, with the rest being noticeably weaker. I think that latter scenario makes for a more jarring experience for everyone involved (unless you're the type to not care at all how others think of you, then it's just the other person feeling put off). Imagine you visually pass perfectly, but your voice is clocky as shit, and your personality is very unfeminine. Or that you're a hon with an angelic voice. Or that you look and sound like a dude in a wig, but with a tragically ultrafeminine soul. In these cases you won't be seen as a woman, but as a crossdresser, freak of nature, or raging flamer, respectively. So I came to the conclusion that it's best if all these aspects of one's presentation are somewhat level with eachother, and that improvement should be spread out among them. It makes sense to me that I'd rather be a hon in every sense than a hon in almost every sense. In the former you're an open and shut case of "ugly person". But in the latter you're still ugly but something about you stands out, drawing more attention to you and more thought to be put on your exact flaws, as the confused third party's mind tries to understand your mixed signals. But then I refined my conclusion further, and decided that improvement should be prioritized in the established order of image, sound, and dialoge. Passing looks-wise only, as long as the rest of your presentation is at least technically within female range, will just have you labeled as a tomboy or dyke with a husky voice. Improve this further by feminizing your voice more, and you'll be labeled a normal girl with quirky interests and, at worst, a "not like the other girls" pickme (not the worst thing ever). Now imagine you're at this stage, you pass in every way except personality. This means you can walk towards and start talking to a woman or group of women, and they won't decide to code switch with you yet. This means you're now able to immerse yourself in female social groups, and learn fembrainedness by immersion. Now I realize that learning to "act female", is analogous to learning a new language. You will never be a native speaker, but you can get damn close through immersion. Of course though, all of this is a very simplified thought experiment, the point is that in this idealized model where you can improve like it's spending skill points, it is clear that some of the "skills" are more important to level up than others. Reality is actually messier than this, and improvement will not be linear or even monotonic, but the underlying trends are still present. That being that it's better to come off as a quirky dyke than as a delusional dork. ========== in retrospect this is actually just pure nonsense and im fucked and dont see myself leaving manmode in the foreseeable future its funny how im in hell and everyone else is also in hell. even those who seem so much better off because you compare your flaws with their virtues, they're also in hell and suffering. so even if you improved yourself it wouldn't make much difference because you'd still be in hell. but obviously you wouldn't want to live in squalor as a complete waste of oxygen of a person, and those who have it better objectively suffer less. but the quality of "living in hell" is universal and inescapable. it's hell all the way down and all the way up too
